The International Joseph A. Schumpeter Society (ISS) is an economics association aimed at furthering research in the spirit of Joseph Schumpeter.[1]
Founded in Germany in 1986, the Society's founding conference was devoted to evolutionary economics, with special focus on the influence of Schumpeter.[2] Founders included Wolfgang Stolper. Past Presidents include Arnold Heertje (1986 - 88), Frederic M. Scherer (1988 - 90) and Dennis Mueller (1996-98).[2] In 1993 the Society adopted the Journal of Evolutionary Economics, founded in 1991, as its house journal.[2]
In cooperation with the German weekly Wirtschaftswoche, the Society awards a Schumpeter Prize.[3]
